Streamline your Webflow site by removing eCommerce features. Learn how to copy content to a new project, hide pages, or get help from Webflow Support in our detailed guideAre you considering removing eCommerce from your Webflow site?

Removing or retaining eCommerce related pages on your Webflow site will depend on your situation. Whether it's copying content to a new project, hiding eCommerce pages, or seeking assistance from Webflow Support. Let's streamline your Webflow experience by removing eCommerce effortlessly.

Read about Webflow eCommerce Review.

What is Webflow eCommerce?

As you're well aware, Webflow eCommerce comprises a suite of tools tailored for creating and managing web shops.

While invaluable for online stores, some users may seek to deactivate it if they no longer have a use for it.

One common scenario arises from Webflow templates that include eCommerce features by default. This can happen regardless of whether you intend to launch an online store.

Removing Webflow eCommerce entirely isn't possible for a regular user. Once activated, its pages and collections persist on the site, posing a challenge for users who prefer not to have eCommerce components or opt for third-party solutions. Consequently, some users may explore avenues to remove eCommerce from their Webflow site altogether.

How to Remove eCommerce from a Webflow Site:

If you’re subscribed to an eCommerce site package on Webflow, you have three potential routes for removing eCommerce functionality:

1) Copy and import your content into a new project/website without eCommerce

2) Keep the current eCommerce site but hide the pages

3) Contact Support to remove eCommerce from Webflow for You

Option 1: Copy/Import Content Into a New Project Without eCommerce

Webflow's limited in fully removing eCommerce pages and collections once enabled. Sometimes, your best bet might involve copying and importing your content into a new site without eCommerce components.

While this approach can be time-consuming, it's particularly suitable for smaller eCommerce Webflow sites or those contemplating a downgrade to a non-eCommerce plan to save costs.

Option 2: Keep The eCommerce Site Package & Hide Pages

If retaining your current eCommerce package is no issue, you can choose to hide eCommerce pages.

You can do this simply by toggling off publishing for each eCommerce Collection page in their respective Page Settings and deactivating sitemap indexing in the Site Settings of the eCommerce Checkout pages. This way you can effectively conceal these pages from your live site.

This option proves more straightforward, especially for medium to large eCommerce sites, or if you need to temporarily disable eCommerce.

Both these options allow you to manage settings from each respective page's Page Settings, facilitating seamless adjustments to your site's eCommerce visibility.

Option 3: Contact Webflow Support

If you cannot transfer your content into a new project and you prefer not to keep an eCommerce package, you may want to contact Webflow Support.

Thankfully, some users have had success with Support calls.

The Webflow Support team will have access to more backend support than the average user, so it’s possible they may be able to “switch off” your eCommerce plan and give you a similar General Webflow plan.

When Deciding to Remove eCommerce, Consider Your Situation

  • Are you Removing eCommerce from your site temporarily or permanently?
  • Will migrating your Webflow Ecommerce plan to a General plan save you money? If so, how much?
  • Do you have the time, resources and skills to transfer a Webflow website yourself?
